The Director of Business Development will work in collaboration with the research and development team by driving external strategic engagement on opportunities ranging from scientific research collaborations, relationship development, supporting licensing of cell and gene technologies, cell/vector manufacturing, to clinical development up to Phase I/II. Reporting to the Vice President of Therapeutics Operations, this key leadership position will be responsible for directing strategic projects, competitive intelligence, and market research in support of Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx's) existing and future pipeline, as well as corporate goals. The role will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team including research & development, GMP manufacturing, clinical development, tech transfer office, and senior leadership to inform and drive strategic business decisions.

-Advanced life science degree (MS or PhD). MBA a plus
-10 years of experience in strategy consulting, venture capital, business intelligence, corporate strategy, market insights & analytics, and new product planning or related field
-At least 3+ years of business development experience and at least 5 years of drug development experience are required
-Experience working in and collaborating with cross-functional teams
-Demonstrated experience navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
-Significant track record of supporting transactions required (licensing, SRAs, and multi- year research partnerships)
