Desirable to have a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 2-4 years of experience in the safety field or in a related area and familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within safety and industrial ergonomics field.
In addition, interfaces with Activity employees, vendors, and Safety staff to ensure compliance requirements are met and that product issues are in accordance with NUWC policy.
Analyzes inventory levels, personnel hiring dynamics, and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
Tracks and monitors usage rates of equipment and prepares reports.
Researches and recommends products to assist Program Mangers in implementing innovative solutions for hazard abatement initiatives.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks.
Works under general supervision; typically reports to the NUWC Keyport Safety Officer and staff.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Security Clearance Required: Secret.
