Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an ME Production Process Verification Leader to join our Manufacturing Engineering department based in Mobile, AL.

This position will be responsible for applying the Production Process Verification Procedure. Production Process Verification (PPV) is a documented review used to demonstrate the ability of a given manufacturing system to produce conforming items in serial mode. It is necessary to perform a PPV in case of major industrial change (new A/C version) or specific industrial risk. Due to rate increase and increased complexity (AirSpace, XLR, etc) a robust PPV process will be critical in the coming years. The position will be the main focal point for the Authorities, Internal and External Audit. The position will be in charge to collect and document all the deliverables as described in process A2715 and solve all the issues which require expertise and can't be solved with general knowledge. Detailed working knowledge of engineering technical information, quality control, measurement tasks, components / parts, jigs & tools, maintenance tasks, health & safety, IT processes is necessary to fully meet the position.

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Give support to the multi-functional team for all unusual issues related to the PPV process:

  • Analyze content of Routing Comparison Sheets created by other team members and enter relevant information into the PPV Register.

  • Organize / attend PPV MFT meetings as required.

  • Participate in Operational Surveillance.

  • Track and manage corrective actions to answer findings identified during the PPV Process, in order to successfully close the PPV.

  • Collect all A2715 criteria evidence and document these in the PPV Report.

  • Participate in the Audits regarding the PPV Activities, Internal or External with authorities (EASA...)

  • Create and Release Internal Awareness sessions to the team when required.

  • Maintain strong links with Process Owners in Europe.

  • In charge of analyzing and approving / refusing all the new process update proposals.

  • Perform International Surveys to identify "best practices" overseas and implement in the ME Department.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate as an active team member including providing orientation support to new colleagues and trainees.

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and deploy IT tools in support of PPV (ePPV, eRCS, etc) and other ME tasks, and provide training to the team on these tools.

  • Responsible for incorporating implicit knowledge into these instructions and refine them in terms of language, level of detail and regulation assignment.

  • Respond in an agile manner to other ME IT tool development and deployment needs as they arise.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Your boarding pass:

  • Required: Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous participation and/or the ability to successfully pass the following Airbus Courses:

  • Airbus Gen Fam (General Familiarization)

  • Airbus SA Familiarization (EL01)

  • Airbus Manufacturing Systems AMS

  • Quality Management for Self-Inspection (QS1)

  • Airbus Production Rules 80T

  • Corporate Presentation Skills

  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Required: 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred: 5+ years experience with Airbus IT tools (SAP, Skywise, etc) and tool deployment process.

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.

  • Proven ability to influence others and lead small teams.

  • Proven ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Experience in creating, maintaining, and communicating KPI.

  • Travel Required: 10% Domestic and International.

  • Perfect knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

  • Perfect knowledge of supply chain management and quality system management.

  • Perfect knowledge about non-conformities and design query notes.

  • Perfect knowledge of Airbus Industries mechanical process & methods.

  • Perfect knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and practice.

  • Have the ability to work in an international team.

  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and executives.

  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Google GSuite.

  • SkyWise.

  • Airbus Industries electrical processes & methods.

  • Airbus IT-Tools (TiCon, Zamiz, TAKSY, DocMaster, Gildas,NormMaster).
