As the VP, Mortgage Loan Servicing Director for Banner Bank you will maintain the term real estate loan portfolio of the Bank. Meet a servicing calendar of events involving investor remittance, escrow account analysis, maintenance of loan files on the system of record, and payoff/reconveyance as required in the portfolio and general ledger maintenance. Interact with RE loan production group managers, Accounting, RE Special Assets, and RE System Administration, as well as other bank loan servicing operations.

NOTE: This role is hybrid and can be based in Walla Walla, WA or the Tri-Cities. Must be in the Walla Walla office two to three days per week.
In this role you will have an opportunity to:
  • Be responsible for managing the mortgage servicing/RE loan administration department resources in order to meet the servicing calendar timeframes.
  • Manage the department's loan portfolio in accordance with federal, state, and investor guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit and control procedures at all times. Maintain the real estate files for residential, multi-family, contract collections, and loan participations.
  • Oversee performance reviews, salary recommendations, and training for the department.
  • Develop goals and objectives for mortgage loan servicing operations. Interacts with RE Loan Production group managers, Accounting, RE Special Assets, Internal Audit, Risk Management & Compliance, Human Resources and Payroll, and RE Systems Administration.
  • Design and prepare periodic reports regarding the status of all operations within the work group.
  • Act as the liaison with the core operating system vendor in order to maximize functionality, as well as to provide input for future enhancements.
  • Be responsible for complying with, and ensuring staff follows, policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science or other related field required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience
  • 8 or more years of related mortgage servicing/loan administration experience required
  • 6 or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process, or team required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex duties relating to customers and the coordination of other employees efforts.
  • Posses excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
  • Advanced of escrow account administration and analysis, investor remittance, term loan portfolio maintenance, collection and default administration, loan sales and acquisitions, general ledger maintenance, maintenance of the IT system of record, and consumer protection/compliance issues.
  • Ability to schedule, train, and oversee a multi-task staff and manage time sensitive projects to conclusion.
  • Ability to create, modify and generate reports using Query program. Possess knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to mortgage servicing.
Travel
  • Up to 20%
Compensation & Benefits
  • Targeted starting compensation range is based on location and experience: $115,000 - $140,000
