MATERIAL HANDLER II (CONTRACT/ONSITE)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials Management Department is responsible for commercial drug manufacturing raw material warehousing services as well as general site warehousing services. These responsibilities cover Current Good Manufacturing Practice ("cGMP") inventory management and control, general warehouse storage, dock receipts from external suppliers, receipt and material inspections, entry of purchase order receipts into the inventory control system and customer service to support commercial production material needs and general site warehousing support. Materials Management also supports Health, Environment and Safety by collecting and processing site hazardous waste streams for site removal.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Segregates, inspects, and documents GMP raw materials receipts per department standard operating procedures ("SOPs"); generates, inspects, and applies internal labeling; labels and stores per specifications and label criteria.
  • Performs cycle counts on GMP raw materials; and assists in investigations of discrepancies. Monitors expiring batches of raw materials, notifies appropriate groups of expiration, and coordinates raw material removal and disposal.
  • Performs a variety of Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") receipt, movement, issue, and adjustment transactions on GMP raw materials.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and investigating area exceptions and issues which includes GMP deviations.
  • Segregates, classifies, inventories, labels, and documents hazardous waste; characterizes all waste material for storage and disposal according to WA Dept. of Ecology, EPA, and DOT regulations. Disposes of all hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Unloads, inspects, and receives all materials; communicates and resolves discrepancies with Materials Planning, Purchasing and Accounting as necessary; delivers materials to end-users.
  • Assists with returns to vendor, cold chain, hazardous materials, and other shipments.
  • Maintains warehouse areas in clean and organized conditions.
  • Assists in providing training to new employees.
  • Completes area work orders for assets and equipment.
  • Adheres to all applicable regulations and requirements including compliance with internal SOPs, GMP, Health and Safety, WISHA/OSHA, regulatory compliance, company policies, and employment-related laws and statutes.
  • Successfully completes all mandatory Quality and Compliance training within required timeframes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Required:

  • Current knowledge of general warehouse operations.
  • Proven ability to train others in job-specific duties.
  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices and cGMP.
  • Excellent soft skills including a bias towards action, the ability and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback, is comfortable working within a diverse team and across multiple functions, exhibits a consistently constructive attitude, and is adaptable and at ease with handling unexpected changes and challenges.
  • Solid English language communication skills, both oral and written, are required for this highly collaborative role. Willingness and ability to clearly express opinions and ask questions. Comfortable actively participating in cross-functional meetings.
  • Solid software skills essential including Word and Outlook; ability and willingness to quickly adopt other job-specific applications will be necessary.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of ERP inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of special handling required for hazardous materials.
  • Proven ability to create SOPs, other documentation, and provide revisions to existing documents.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible, relevant professional experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Previous experience working in a cGMP environment.

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree or other post-secondary training or education.
  • Lift Truck experience.
  • DOT, IATA, RCRA certification.

PTx is committed to the principles of competitive and pay equity forall ofour Partners. The current pay range for this position is $43,014 -$55,432: Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Your salary will vary depending on several factors including your qualifications and experience.
