Cost Accounting Manager


Our client, a Consumer Goods and Services company, is looking for a Cost Accounting Manager to join their growing team.

LOCATION:
Offices in Seattle, WA, and Chicago, IL.
Preferably, they would like the candidate to work out of one of these offices, however, they're open to a remote applicant.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
You will help ensure the company has robust processes for inventory, AP, and treasury that support our growing, global businesses. Your technical accounting knowledge will allow you to identify process improvements and reduce processing times, and your people management experience to support and develop a high-performing team.
This position will report to the Corporate Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the month-end closing process for Inventory and AP, providing insight and analysis to leaders at all levels on budget to actual differences. Makes sure AP processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Oversees Inventory and AP estimates for the company. Works cross-functionally to ensure accruals and reserves are correctly calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup, in accordance with US GAAP. Ensures timely completion of all relevant account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for the treasury function. Ensures our client has the liquidity to support the current business and future growth. Works with the parent company of our client, to meet all corporate treasury requests and requirements.
  • Manages a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance to help them achieve technical and professional goals.
  • Builds robust, scalable processes to support the continued growth of our client's businesses in multiple geographies. Ensures appropriate documentation is in place for key policies and procedures, including internal controls.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within consumer products and/or manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding and application of US GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and systems view of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Oracle and Hyperion is a plus
  • Experience supporting growing, global businesses preferred
