Position Summary

As a Print Production Manager, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate packaging prepress development for our clients. You will work as a liaison between various teams, including Packaging Communications, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, R&D, Design Agencies, and Printers, to ensure that our client's production needs are met efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and streamline processes by providing technical support. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving our company's relationship with the client. Your ability to navigate cross-functional collaborations and offer technical support defines the comprehensive nature of this role within our dynamic team.

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

  • Coordinate all aspects of the packaging prepress development, print separations, and image carrier delivery in collaboration with Client process leaders to effectively meet project timelines
  • Coordinate & lead pre-production meetings, including knowledge of various print processes
  • Act as a crucial liaison between the Client, Design Agencies, and SGS
  • Communicate artwork issues with the Client as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Respond to requests of Client/Sales and others
  • Document all critical and pertinent information that may impact quality
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive, creative impact on the business
  • Verify that the technical supplied data is correct for the supplied art
  • Track and manage projects using production tracking documents to ensure adherence to product launch timelines
  • Understand the Client's process, route artwork and proofs as necessary
  • Communicate received and shipped art to Clients, Print Vendors
  • Request color standards and ink drawdowns from print vendors as needed
  • Understands all aspects of production and manufacturing
  • Utilize client workflows and systems to meet quality and timing goals
  • Coordinate with the Printers to address any print technical issues and periodically obtain the latest printer specifications

Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

This position requires the following knowledge and skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Some College/Associate's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience preferred
  • Experience in the design, print or production art industry
  • Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
  • Proofreading skills required
  • Ability to work independently
