PAY RANGE = $23/hr. to $25/hr.

Shift - M to F 7am to 330pm

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
A Process Technician 4 performs a variety of advanced functions associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers and operators in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final product. Uses programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to parts, instruments, or equipment. Updates and develops methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Trains other team members and often leads projects.

REQUIREMENTS

AA Technical or Manufacturing degree
6+ years of technician experience required in a manufacturing/production environment.
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions.
Ability to use a microscope, depending on the specific function.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
20/20 corrected vision may be required - varies by division
Willingness to wear PPE (examples: goggle, gloves, apron, finger cot, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel.
Strong Interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
Eligible to work in an ITAR environment


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitors and documents the operation of machines in a production environment. Maintains flow of production parts; reports inconsistencies and suggests improvements in the production process.
  2. Troubleshoots complex or troublesome equipment, may work with facilities team or outside vendor or repair or modification.
  3. May run engineering tests prescribed by engineer. Perform periodic calibration.
  4. May recommend process improvements based on test and process results and experience. Troubleshoot machine set up issues.
  5. Visually inspects parts at required steps in the process with attention to detail, ensuring the parts are within specified tolerances. May disposition of reject parts and train operators and inspectors to improve efficiency. Will use measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, CMM and other optical tools.
  6. Maintains and orders/tracks tools according to safety and vendor recommendations. Coordinates major maintenance activities. May assist with permitting and lock-out tag-out protocols.
  7. Reads specifications and mechanical drawings.
  8. Participates in the 5S program.
  9. Knowledgeable of Excel and able to accurately enter data into spreadsheets and create graphs. Experience in basic CNC and CMM is helpful.
  10. Complies with applicable requirements of Kyocera International, Inc. policy, ISO 9000, ISO 14001 requirements, ITAR regulations. May be trained to receive, transport, manage chemical supplies.
  11. Interface with quality assurance personnel to ensure compliance with established procedures and customer specifications.
  12. Prepare reports on results of process changes or analysis and experimental adjustments. May assist engineers in test development and documentation.
  13. May assign and check work of lower-level technicians and operators. Perform the duties or an operator or material handler on occasion as needed. May supervise staff and lead small-medium sized projects.
  14. Support production in any way required. This position is generally cross-trained on a wide variety of production.
