Position Details: * Salary: 35.00 - 42.00 Hourly The Administrator in Training (AIT) Program is a required 6-9 month training program in order to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.: Location: The AIT Program will be completed in a Prestige Care Inc. Skilled Nursing Center in Oregon or WA State Schedule: Full Time hourly position for 6-8 months Additional Info: The right candidate must be willing to relocate close to where the AIT training will take place in Oregon or WA State. Must also be willing to relocate once you become a Licensed NHA at the end of the training program if needed.: Job Summary: An Administrator-in-Training is working with the administrator side-by-side to learn the daily operation of the facility in a professional manner ensuring effective and efficient operation of the building and maintaining the highest level of care to residents in accordance with regulatory standards. Essential Function: * Exercises ethical and sound leadership decision with the help of the assigned administrator. Delegates responsibility to appropriate staff in order to carry out the work of the facility and holds department heads accountable for the performance of their respective departments as assigned by the administrator. * Works with the director of nursing services to gain knowledge of the services of the nursing department and help plan, implement, and evaluate services to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care with the integration of resident rights with all aspects of resident care. * Gains an up to date understanding of applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations that affect the operations of the facility, services to the residents and employees. * Works with the health care team to identify resident care goals in order to assure that adequate resources, environments, and services are provided to residents, meeting regularly with health care team to assure highest practicable care is being delivered. * Ensures residents dignity and right to privacy and that residents are free from sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, corporal punishment, exploitation, neglect and involuntary seclusion. * Works with the administrator and management team to ensure that personnel are present in number and ability to attain or maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well being for each resident that meets the state and federal regulations. * Gains an understanding of written personnel policies and procedures to assure procedures are followed in recruitment, hiring, employment and termination of staff and are in compliance with governmental entities, laws and regulations. * Maintains safety rules and procedures that incorporate federal regulations and OSHA requirements to ensure employee health and safety. * Works with administrator in reviewing the overall building budget, holding each department accountable to their specific budget, while ensuring conformance with standards of quality care. * Adheres to the fire, emergency and disaster plans of the facility and ensures the safety and welfare of residents, staff, and property. * Ensures that all the facility programs, policies and procedures are followed to fulfill administrative responsibility and professional responsibility. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * A four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, with a minimum of two years of experience in geriatric setting and two years experience in a direct supervisory position. * Must obtain a current State Nursing Home Administrator License after completion of the AIT program. * Excellent written and oral communication and motivational skills. * Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management situations. Individual must be a team player, well organized and flexible. * Experience with budget, staff development and training.
