Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Drafter in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

Support the 222-S Complex with computer aided drafting and other duties as assigned with general supervision. Directly performs work of designers and drafters in support of the 222-S Facility Engineering group. This work includes the preparation of plan view, elevation views, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings for nuclear facilities. Assist with originating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), conducting field walk downs and participate in the planning and execution of field work as needed. Also incorporate work completed ECNs to update existing drawings for configuration control of the facility. Performs drafting work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering or project tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design and reliable/safe plant operation. Prepares design and drafting products in accordance with drawing procedures to standardize design effort.
  • Incorporates work completed ECNs to update existing drawings for configuration control of the facility. Prepares drawing revisions and Engineering Data Transmittals (EDT) for drawing release in accordance with applicable codes, standards, procedures and criteria.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD, Smart Plant and other software. Applies working knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes, manuals and standards to engineering design. Reviews designs, plans and shop drawings.
  • Coordinates and works closely with others in the Facility Engineering group to support ongoing facility work.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree with 8 years of related design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and have proven 2D CADD and 3D skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Hanford Drafter qualification.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425

In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
