Job Description
Our employee-owned and integrated team of multi-discipline design and engineering professionals has an opportunity available for a Professional Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Seattle!

As a member of our team, you will work alongside Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural) and Architecture professionals to prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit for a variety of facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

You will be engaged in the full production life cycle of projects by preparing design calculations, plan sets, specifications, and construction cost estimates. In addition, you will assist with structural system layout, multi-discipline coordination, clash detection reviews, and occasional field verifications of existing facilities. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to develop (or enhance) your project management skills by planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of structural only and/or multi-discipline projects, from conceptual design through construction administration.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer in the state of Washington
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive design experience for a diverse portfolio of facilities projects within the government, civic, educational, corporate, transit, and/or light industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; Proficiency with RISA 3D or Ram Structural System.
  • Strong working knowledge of steel, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, and precast concrete design.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems, construction methods / practices, the preparation and assembly of construction documentation, and interpretation of construction plans.
  • Extensive experience working in a team environment and coordinating structural designs with multi-discipline teams.
  • Previous experience conducting condition assessments of existing structures and construction inspection / observation activities.
  • Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills with project team members.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for team meetings, client consultations, facility / site inspections, construction observations, etc.
Advantageous Qualifications
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with multiple states.
  • Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE) within the State of Washington, Oregon, or California.
  • Previous experience with or aspirations to take on project management responsibilities.
  • Previous experience responding to requests for proposals and preparing fee estimates.
