Overview

Aspect Consulting (Aspect), a Geosyntec Company, an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to join our growing Environmental Practice in our Seattle, Washington office. As an entry-level staff at Aspect, you will work outdoors in all weather conditions, and in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time. You also can expect to work directly with geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental engineers, and scientists to learn foundational skills and how to effectively apply environmental consulting strategies and solutions for our clients, who include attorneys, landowners, public agencies, engineers, and contractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Conduct field activities at contaminated sites: environmental drilling, soil logging and sampling, well installation and development, groundwater sampling and aquifer testing, remedial excavation monitoring and construction oversight, environmental monitoring, and soil gas sampling.
  • Manage and oversee subcontractor(s) working on site.
  • Compile and analyze data: assemble field documentation, complete data entry of field measurements, manage environmental chemistry data, update and review operational data for remediation systems, and create graphical representations of water quality and subsurface conditions (e.g., geologic cross-sections, contamination maps).
  • Operations and maintenance of soil, groundwater, and landfill gas remediation systems.
  • Prepare field reports and write technical reports.

Our Environmental Practice is supported by a diverse and talented group of engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, water resource engineers, CAD/GIS professionals, and technical editors who support each other across practices on multidisciplinary projects.

Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil environmental or related field. (required)
  • Master's degree in environmental engineering, civil environmental or related field. (preferred)
  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Clear technical writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Relevant coursework in contaminant fate and transport.
  • Knowledge of United Soil Classification System or USDA soil taxonomy.
  • Experience with environmental sampling field methods such as monitoring well installation, construction, and development; low-flow groundwater sampling; soil gas and indoor air sampling; and aquifer testing.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions and in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel long distances and accommodate occasional overnight travel; travel is often in the greater Puget Sound area and central Washington. (required)
  • Valis U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified Washington locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $67,555
  • Maximum Salary: $99,700
