TITLE: MCFR Project Controls Engineer

LOCATION: Bellevue, WA

MCFR Project Controls Engineer

The Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) Project Controls Engineer supports the planning, scheduling, cost tracking, status reporting, schedule analysis, project performance reporting and project baseline change control for MCFR projects at TerraPower. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate proficiency in working scheduling with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tool, Excel, Jira and Confluence software. The Project Controls Engineer will work closely with various project stakeholders including the project manager, project engineers, group and system leads, as well as other teams and/or individuals and stakeholders while supporting overall MCFR Project Management.

Responsibilities:

* Utilize EVMS principles and other project management best practices while supporting project manager and team group leads in the execution of defined scope and deliverables

* Support month-end Earned Value reporting process including assessing of BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC, BAC, and VAC for MCFR projects

* Contribute to monthly project status reports that track and communicate overall project work performance in terms of scope, schedule, budget, and risk

* Assist group leads and project manager in developing and maintaining the resource loaded master project schedule in Microsoft Project

* Regularly update and provide progress reports, layouts, and publication of the master schedule

* Assist with project change control for changes affecting baseline budget, scope or schedule which exceed established thresholds

* Support and manage MCRE project-specific processes and process improvements

Key Qualifications and Skills

* Ability to adapt-to and rapidly learn new software and processes. Demonstrated experience learning and becoming proficient with new software may be acceptable in lieu of specific software experience.

* Demonstrated affinity for understanding key objective and intent and then working with stakeholders and software tools to improve a process or system to make it more efficient.

* Bachelor's degree in technical field, or equivalent project controls experience. Project scheduling experience in Microsoft Project or Microsoft Project Online or other schedule software, preferably including experience in research and development, engineering, or nuclear industry.

* PMP or AACE certificate is highly preferred.

* Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA preferred

* Travel: 0-5% local, 10-15% remote

TerraPower's technology is controlled for export by various agencies of the U.S. Government. Salary Range Level 10: $109,446 - $164,170

Salary Range Level 11: $120,672 - $201,119

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 - 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
