Valiant is seeking a full-time IT Infrastructure Manager to join our Global Excellence Team. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and support of core infrastructure technology systems and services. This includes data networks, firewalls, servers, server storage systems, VoIP phone systems and other telecom systems/services, data and voice circuits, and other related technologies. Location and Compensation: The position is a remote based position with the ability to travel to Valiant locations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of IT professionals to ensure their success and the overall success of the team, and the department
  • Serve as primary interface with 3rd party infrastructure and networking vendors
  • Oversee the operational support for existing core infrastructure technology to ensure the following work is performed in a professional, consistent, and timely manner:
  • Deploy and maintain Azure resources and other cloud technologies.
  • Implementation and support for Networking, Databases, Software, and Servers in the Cloud.
  • Design architecture for integrating core infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise applications.
  • Proactive monitoring of cloud and on-premise resources to verify integrity and availability.
  • Preventative maintenance and patching of all infrastructure resources where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, escalate as appropriate and offer solutions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues, responsible for communicating with all impacted parties the status and resolution of all issues.
  • Communicate with customers and notify them of impending changes or agreed outages.
  • Oversee all core infrastructure technology projects from start to finish
  • Evaluate solutions/options, present findings to management, and make recommendations
  • Prepare annual budgets for the team
  • Create project plans and schedules
  • Ensure projects are prioritized and completed in a timely and professional manner with attention to detail and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed on the status. This includes effectively collaborating with other members of the IT department
  • Keep current on new technologies and advancements in current technologies.
  • Assists with special projects or other duties as assigned.
  • Perform general administrative tasks
  • Establish standards, tools, and processes to be used by the team and create procedures to guarantee adherence and compliance to those standards.
  • Develop, document, and understand internal IT processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the IT Information Security Team to identify and implement approved security controls to ensure vulnerabilities and risks are mitigated in a timely manner.
  • Provide maintenance and upkeep of all required service and support contracts.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of after-hours support for critical systems.
  • Assist with annual operating and capital budget planning for systems, services, and projects within the Infrastructure team

Key Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology related field or commensurate years of experience
  • 8+ years' experience using, designing, implementing, and maintaining network, server, storage, telecommunication, and multimedia systems and services.
  • 3+ years' experience supervising and managing a team of IT infrastructure employees
  • Strong working knowledge of security best practices for Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies.
  • Experience deploying Azure resources and other cloud technologies, including Office 365, PAAS, IAAS, SAAS, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access Policies, and third-party single sign-on technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policies, Certificate Services, IIS, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune etc.
  • Strong understanding of security concepts surrounding operating systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of IT industry standards, change management processes, and use of enterprise standards change control procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external groups in a team environment to improve overall customer service and support.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize existing projects, and proactively determine areas requiring additional attention, monitoring, or maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; think and act quickly to solve issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and practices and assist with setting strategic direction to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Experience with ITIL Change Management and Change Advisory Board (CAB) leadership.

  • Must have the ability to provide the explanation of technology for nontechnical managers, directors, and above.
