Are you motivated by the challenge of directing complex construction projects and leading union crew members to overcome a project successfully?

J.F. Brennan Company (Brennan) is looking for a Superintendent. As a Superintendent you will be responsible for performing, planning, monitoring, and supervising on-site construction activities, maintaining liaison with Division Manager, Project Manager and client regarding project progress and changes.

Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in hands-on construction activities, demonstrating expertise and serving as an example for the team.
  • Lead mentor, and manage a team of construction professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Provide on-site leadership for all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to scheduled, budgets and safety standards.
  • Properly schedules the work of the crews, equipment, and subcontractors to achieve maximum production and quality in the most efficient manner.
  • Performs on-site safety meetings and directs work to coincide with all safety requirements.
  • Resolve issues and adjust to ever changing environments.
  • Provide regular project updates, including progress reports, milestone achievements, and potential challenges to management.
  • Coordinates, plans, and assists with client requests to ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Maintains schedules of job sites and assists with hiring for jobsite needs.
  • Ability to travel 100% of the time to assigned project sites.

Superintendent Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the concrete, marine construction and/or environmental industry
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in supervision and construction related management.
  • Willingness to work 12+ hours/day, nights and weekends depending on project schedules.
  • Must have excellent field operations experience and be familiar with standard construction practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter, highly organized, and creative.
  • Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to accurately benchmark project length and deliver on deadlines.

Compensation:

  • WA Pay Range: from $65 to $75 per hour (based upon union)
  • Benefits will be determined by the union.
