OverviewMicrosoft Research (MSR) is seeking applications for the position of Principal Research Software Development Engineer - GenAI to join their team in Redmond, WA. At Microsoft Research, our researchers and engineers pursue innovation in a range of scientific and technical disciplines to help solve complex challenges in diverse fields, including computing, healthcare, economics, and the environment. We areseeking an engineer to join our team and contribute to the advancement of generative Artifical Intelligence (AI) agent framework.As a Principal Research Software Development Engineer - GenAI, you will play a crucial role in community building, governing technical direction, and address agile development needs of an open-source project, AutoGen. Your work will have a significant impact on the research and development ofnext-generation AI-agent applications powered by large language models and foundation models. ResponsibilitiesSupports AutoGen, related teams and community in code reviews, issue triage, discuss on Discord and other community engagement channels. Grow the community of users and developers of AutoGen. Increase the adoption of AutoGen in products and research. Improve the usability and user experience by building intuitive interfaces and integrating with the ecosystem. Collaborate with research and engineering teams to determine user requirements and drive the project plans. Identify emerging technology trends and science breakthroughs in generative AI and agents, and drive important technical directions. Address challenges in system design, architecture and implementation to unblock production deployment. Embody our culture and values.
