Occupational Therapy - Hand Therapy

Providence St. Peter Hospital - Providence Outpatient Therapy Clinic - Lacey, WA

SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, DAY shift. Operating hours 7a-6p PST. Can be flexible to accommodate schedule preferences within these days and times.

This position is specifically for an OT-Hand Therapist. Their clinical role will be to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow in an outpatient setting. This would include overuse conditions, traumatic injury, degenerative conditions, and post-surgical conditions. Candidates should preferably have their CHT as noted above and have experience working as a hand therapist.

Additionally, this position provides direct and indirect occupational therapy services including assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation, discharge planning, related documentation and communication. Service delivery may include direct, monitored, and consultative approaches. OTR practitioners advance along a continuum from entry to advanced level based on experience, education and practice skills. The OTR has the ultimate responsibility for service provision. Functions according to the AOTA Code of Ethics and standards of the profession.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy.
  • Baccalaureate degree and a certification or advanced degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Upon hire: Washington Occupational Therapist License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHT Licensure - Certified Hand Therapist (currently certified or working towards certification)
  • Experience fabricating custom splinting for conditions of the hand and wrist
