SUMMARY

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan handling Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, etc. Verifies all incoming and outgoing merchandise and reviews the receiving and issuing documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
• Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials.
• Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
• Removes material from storage and prepares it for use.
• Maybe operates hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Follows established procedures to ensure achievement of quality, safety, and security standards.
• Conserves Government utilities.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma desirable. Technical schooling preferred.
• Five (5) years of military or civilian work experience associated with warehouse duties.
• Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Demonstrate competence through satisfactory progressive performance.
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to multi-task.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 10%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.

Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 10%.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons. Seeing up close. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a warehouse setting as well as outdoors in military training areas. Work is often performed outdoors, in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions. Employee often exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead, and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week and occasional overtime, with prior supervisor approval, as required to maintain operations and support the mission.
