Job Description

FedGeek is seeking someone to be a part of the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) Scientific Data Management (SDM) agency. You will generally be responsible for the following:

• Develop custom software to automate data migration and dissemination into and out of NWFSC data stores, including remote field collection;
• Develop custom software to analyze and visualize scientific data;
• Develop data migration and data management plans and procedures;
• Manage data migration, loading, and reporting throughout the data life cycle with consistent QA/QC processes and procedures;
• Create user interface previews to communicate look and feel of new applications to customers and developers; and,
• Review, edit and deliver system documentation including system architecture, use cases, and software help guides.
• Employee common source code control tools and code testing methodologies
• Performs all software development tasks, including design, development, unit testing and debugging computer software.
• Work independently or as part of a team under the supervision of more senior engineers for complex efforts
• May lead task-level projects

Required Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of post-collegiate relevant experience
• Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree (or equivalent).
• Citizenship: US
• Clearance: Position will require a Public Trust clearance.
• Oracle Apex web developer experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with development with Oracle backend databases and an Apex frontend
• Experience in developing for several target operating systems
• Experience using a variety of modern programming languages and development environments i.e. Python and R
• Excellent communication skills, offers clear and concise recommendations
• Self-starter, team player, and individual contributor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
