Director of National Operations

Position Summary

The Director of National Operations is dedicated to a large national account. This position will leverage ABM experts to deliver site and portfolio programs as directed. They will identify current programs being utilized and implement across the national portfolio as directed. This position will drive and encourage industry technology, focused on client experience, cost savings, and/or cost avoidance. This position will support ABM programs such as employee safety, blood borne pathogens, quality control and audit program, sustainability, account training, and employee onboarding/offboarding. This position is also responsible for reporting on all contract service level agreements and will work closely with the Account Managers to ensure compliance. The role reports to the National Director.

Essential Duties

  • Possess and/or acquire a deep knowledge of the operation at each site (contract, scope of work, building type, client nuances, local market conditions)
  • Build long-term sustainable partnerships with the client at each location
  • Consistently travel to and visit each site within a region. Participate in frequent, regular conference call meetings with the client and/or local ABM team
  • Effectively address all client related communications in real time with a sense of urgency (emails, phone calls, requests)
  • Properly escalate issues that could impact local or national perceptions of ABM as a preferred facility services provider
  • Work directly with client and internal teams to ensure billing and collections are processed in a timely manner
  • Negotiate modifications to compensation or staffing plans based on site specific needs, market conditions and client driven initiatives
  • Prepare and develop monthly operating reports and quarterly business reviews.
  • Work closely with site managers to develop operational knowledge and management capabilities
  • Work with Senior leadership to develop site specific performance standards and ensure portfolio wide standards are being met
  • Ensure all sites are properly documenting employee onboarding, badging, safety, job training and performance management issues
  • Drive and promote a strong safety culture; reinforce ABM and client safety programs
  • Ensure each site is conducting formal quality checks and inspections according to plan
  • Continuously monitor the overall SLA performance of each site and make appropriate changes to improve performance
  • Understand and comply with ABM policies and procedures
  • Job duties may be modified at any time
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent military experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of management experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years in facility services or building management (multi-site locations preferred)
  • Previous custodial experience desired
  • Extended travel outside of region (25%)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must maintain a valid State issued driver's license
