This Contract - FW DevOps Technician supports engineering Lab activities during Integration and Scale testing of various Itron systems. These systems comprise of FW (on a meter) and Software and supporting Hardware that configures and collects information provided by the meter and storage of the databases. Works from Test Plans and Test Design specifications to perform manual testing. Performs functional tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment under test. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions in Lab environments. Assists in the Lab design, lab build outs as applicable. Uses test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, debuggers and specialized test apparatus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Ensure lab operational state and status is up to date, the devices are up and running as required
  • Plans, schedules, implements firmware upgrades. Configure hardware to meet the needs of required QA testing.
  • Installs new equipment and modifies current installations using various manual and power tools. fabricates test equipment.
  • Execute Test Cases, file bug reports and collaborate with development team
  • Support and satisfy task assignments and resolve them independently with minimal training
  • Troubleshoots, repair/configure existing HW test networks.

Qualifications:

  • Fast Learner
  • Ability to work within a team or independently in a fast paced environment
  • Technical aptitude for test development and execution
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate well in person and over the phone

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 1-2 year of related experience


Preferred Experience: Some ethernet networking experience preferred, Excel and SharePoint experience a plus.


Education: Graduate or equivalent.


Travel: 0-10%

Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
